Ozone Advantages

IMG 1988Ozone water purification is the most effective FDA approved water purification method for eradicating toxins that are found in water. Ozone, also known as O3, is a highly powerful oxidant that inactivates pesticides, fungus, organic materials, contaminates and viruses much more potently than chlorine.

Ozone can effectively kill bacteria as well as Giardia, Cryptosporidium, parasites, fungi, molds and other microbes. The ozonation standard for killing most organisms is to maintain 0.3 ppm for a three-minute contact time.

All water contains microbes—living organisms that feed on organics, metals, petroleum, chemicals and each other. While most microbes are completely harmless and pose no health risks, others can be dangerous.

What are the most commonly occurring harmful microbes? E. coli is the benchmark as far as harmful microbes are concerned. If a water supply is from a sealed, drilled well greater than 80 ft deep, the chance of naturally occurring E. coli is low. Similarly, viruses, protozoa, fungi and cysts rarely occur. It is very common, however, to find nuisance microbes that form biofilm and/or create offensive tastes and odors.

If a water supply comes from a lake, creek, pond, stream, cistern, rain catchment/roof runoff or other surface source, then the water could have an extreme amount of dangerous microbes. It is very important to kill all the bacteria due to the chance of propagation from even a single bacterium. In addition, there are many ailments that are associated with parasitic contamination, and some can be quite debilitating. Children, infants, the elderly and people with immune deficiencies are at even greater risks.

The advantage of our Showers of Blessings Ozone Water System over the chlorination/declorination is simple:

  1. Our Ozone System uses no chemicals.
  2. You do not need a retention tank.
  3. You do not need a chemical pump.
  4. You do not need to change out chemical pump tubes.
  5. You do not need to replace worn out chemical pumps.
  6. Ozone is 300 times more powerful than Chlorine!
  7. Virtually maintenance free.
  8. No cost or monthly maintenance.

Average cost of the Conventional Chlorination/Declorination for a family of 4:

1/2 to 1 2 1/2 gallon bottle of chlorine

Replace chemical pump tube every 6-12 months

Replace duct valve approx. every 90 days

Chlorine is very hard on everything, very corrosive.

 Ozone pennies per month

We are placing this system in for customers that have heavy iron, bacteria and sulfur smells.  This system has advantage in the fact that you do not have to have retention tanks, chemical pumps and all of the maintenance upkeep that we have had in the past.  We custom build our systems, all of  our systems to fit your specific water need.  This system comes with 5 year warranty on the parts and the ozone.  This does not cover labor cost, however, for the first year you  will pay nothing (unless you do not provide electric for the system to run or that you change settings which may cause damage).

In cases of very bad water with 6-10 ppm of iron, you may need a rebed every 3-4 years which cost about $400.00.  With a rebed cost every 4 years, you are far ahead of those that use chemicals and chemical pumps and retention tanks in way of cost.  I personally have an ozone system on my home and we love it.  Owner of Showers of Blessings Water Treatment David Downing.
